This is the time of year when gorgeous deep colors and cool temperatures make us think of a fall wedding. I have a few ideas for how to start the process and hopefully provide a little inspiration.
Budget - It is important to make decisions about how much money you will spend early in your wedding planning process.

Style - What type of wedding will it be? A contemporary wedding? Vintage? Elegant? May I suggest picking a favorite color, theme or special keepsake to center your wedding around.
Location - Just because it is cold outside doesn't mean you can't take advantage of a gorgeous vineyard or beach. It may be a family members lush backyard but you can still incorporate the beauty of the season and be comfortable.
Shopping - The best part of the entire wedding for me is always the shopping. You probably already have the perfect dress in mind for your special day. Remember to always try on as many dresses as you can, and plan for a cooler weather. Perhaps you may consider a muted hue like creamy white or light grey. If you are in the mood to sparkle a dress with Swarovski crystals and pearls would be an elegant choice.
Your groom will probably go the traditional route and wear a tuxedo. If he is daring perhaps he can select a warm shade of chocolate brown perfect for the fall season. Make certain your bridesmaids are comfortable and help select their dresses. We know it's your wedding but, how many of us have that old bridesmaids dress in the closet. Why not choose something that can be used again for a dinner party?
Favors & Details - Plan to add something that your guests will never forget. A favorite bottle of wine with a custom label or a CD with your favorite music will always be a hit! No matter what you choose to give keep the season in mind and work with a theme that will keep your guests talking for years to come.
